The lighting worked out interesting in this. I set my camera for low light, and the effect it had really made the difference. It balanced the sunlight with the shade under the tree. Every other picture made the background look washed out. I used a flash to push this even further.
In this one I kicked the brightness settings to the max. Hard to believe the "darker" area where we are at is actually shaded. You can see how the light in the background is washed out.
Still messing with the macro on my camera. The auto focus isn't too bad, but once I get a better camera with a manual focus I should be able to do a whole lot better on these closeups.
This photo is all about composition. I used the setting where it softens the background. Can't remember if I used a flash, but the goal here was to fill the frame correctly. Out of all my shots of this tree this one was the best composed.
